Dunn Building Event October 7th to October 28th

Call for Artists

In 2006, the Berkeley County Offices allowed ArtBerkeley to use the second floor area of the Dunn Building as an exhibit space.  The event was successful and ArtBerkeley is pleased to announce the 5th annual Dunn Building Exhibit.  This event is open to any current ArtBerkeley member.

All participants must fill out the attached form and return it to Leia Wood.  Mail it to PO Box 2721, Martinsburg WV 25402 or email a scanned copy to secretary@artberkeley.org by Monday, October 3, 2011.

All artists that submit work will be represented in the exhibit, however, all artwork that is submitted may not be able to be exhibited due to space consternates or inappropriate material.  Please choose to exhibit 1-3 pieces and remember that this is a government and public building.

Installation/Hanging of artwork will be on Wednesday Oct. 5th from 6pm-8pm. Artists will be responsible for hanging/installation of their own artwork.  Artists will need to bring appropriate hanging materials, such as, molding hooks, hanging filament, hanging chain and S hooks, or other means of display.  All artwork must be secure, as hundreds of people walk in this area daily, please make sure no one can accidentally hurt your work.  Please feel free to contact Leia if you have any questions about hanging/installing your work.  Tags for the artwork will be made so that all cards are uniform and will have ArtBerkeley contact information for purchasing the artwork.  Patrons will write checks directly to the Artist.  It is then up to the Artist to pay ArtBerkeley 20% of the purchase price as a commission.

The Reception for this event will be on Friday, October 7th, from 6pm-8pm.  We encourage all artists of ArtBerkeley to join us and invite friends and family to the event.  A successful opening to any show involves the artist promoting the event too.  Artists may also want to bring biographies and/or business cards to place with our guest book.

Removal of the artwork will be on Friday October 28th, from 6-8pm.  No artwork maybe removed before this date without the expressed permission of William Berryhill, President of ArtBerkeley.
